Our History
Welcome to Ward 4, fondly known as East Hamilton! Nestled in the heart of the lower city, just beneath the scenic Niagara Escarpment (often called “The Mountain”), Ward 4 is a vibrant and diverse community.
While it has a rich industrial history with notable landmarks like ArcelorMittal Dofasco, it’s also home to bustling commercial spaces like the Centre on Barton, and charming spots like the Pipeline Walkway.
Whether you’re exploring our parks or local shops, Ward 4 offers
a unique blend of Hamilton’s urban energy and welcoming neighbourhood charm.
